Nestlé opens innovative pet food factory

07.02.2017

Nestlé has opened a pet food factory in Brazil that will provide new tasty and healthy options for pets and create jobs while minimising the impact on the environment.
The new Purina site in Ribeirão Preto will make wet food for cats and dogs in the Friskies, Cat Chow, Pro Plan and Dog Chow ranges. It will use exclusive technology to produce more natural and nutritious meals by preserving the original meat characteristics.
The CHF 85 million investment will generate around 80 new direct jobs and a further 400 indirect jobs, and meet an expected rise in demand for pet food in Brazil and the region.
