Petbarn acquires string of companies

Australian pet supplies retailer Petbarn has acquired the assets of Animal Supplies Wholesale, one of the largest distributors of pet products, and its sister companies. The Animal Supplies Group has gone into voluntary administration. Petbarn, belonging to Greencross Ltd., operates over 150 pet speciality stores in Australia. Greencross has announced that it plans to ramp up its expansion plans and grow further thanks to a "strong pipeline" of suitable retail sites.
