Plaček Group acquires twelve outlets of Zoo Shop Benji

Plaček’s Super Zoo and Zoo Shop Benji have reached a strategic agreement to cooperate in the Czech pet product market. The deal has two main parts. Firstly, both sides have agreed that Super Zoo will take over twelve of Benji’s pet stores across the Czech Republic over the next two years. As the second part of the deal, the Plaček Group and Zoo Shop Benji have announced that Plaček will become a major supplier to the Benji stores. The average size of these stores is 250 m2.
“For us it is a very important strategic step for the consolidation of our home market. These twelve locations are ideal and typical of our Super Zoo concept, thanks to which the Plaček Group will be even stronger,” said Dusan Plaček, CEO and owner of the Plaček Group.
The Plaček Group is a leader in the distribution of pet products in central and eastern Europe and is engaged in the wholesale and retail business with a total of 170 retail stores under the names Super Zoo, Dino Zoo, Mr Pet and Kakadu. Zoo Shop Benji operates 20 pet shops and is the number 4 player in the Czech pet retail market.
