Oase acquires Reef One

The Germany-based Oase Group has acquired the assets of Reef One Ltd. in Norwich with immediate effect. The purchase price has not been disclosed. Reef One, a British company, has spent years building up its BiOrb aquariums into a successful brand and turning them into a premium aquatics range. Oase’s declared aim in completing this acquisition is “to combine the strengths of both parties in conjunction with the market launch of a new Oase aquatics range in February 2016”.
“We are excited to be able to add the BiOrb line to our range,” says Ansgar Paul, CEO of the Oase Group. “We have been following the unique design and marketing of the aquariums for years and have been very impressed by them. The BiOrb line is the perfect complement to our Oase aquatics range, which will be available shortly.”
Paul Stevenson, managing director or Reef One, adds: “I built BiOrb up from nothing. When I decided to retire, various options were open to me. Oase was the perfect partner to take the existing business to the next level, consolidate the company’s leading position in Great Britain and expand significantly in North America and Europe by taking advantage of the Oase subsidiaries with their national distribution organisations.”
