The Plaček Group, one of the leading pet supplies chains in central and eastern Europe, is about to acquire the Polish speciality retailer Kakadu, according to industry insiders.
Kakadu operates over 40 pet stores across Poland, located mainly in shopping centres with a high footfall, and is regarded as the leading pet supplies chain in the country. The Plaček Group, a family firm run by Dušan Plaček, has over 100 stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Latvia. It is a leading wholesaler in central and eastern Europe.
