Mars Petcare opens first innovation centre in the USA

The campus will serve as global centre of excellence for dry cat and dog food

Mars Petcare has officially opened the doors of its new, state-of-the-art $ 110 mio Global Innovation Center in Thompson’s Station in Tennessee. The new campus is the third Mars Petcare innovation centre und first in the United States. It comprises a quality & innovation centre for research and development, a product development centre, where new technologies and products will be developed and produced on a small scale, a pet feeding centre and a learning centre, which also incorporates a conference centre. The company pursued a number of design and construction solutions on the campus in order to achieve the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. The project was planned to maximise open space with energy-efficient products designed to consume at least 28 per cent less energy than code-compliant buildings.
