Australia now has its first cat café. As reported in the online newsletter “Pet Industry News”, Anita and Myles Loughran have opened a cat café in Melbourne. The café is a separate space offering a view of the cat area, where visitors can observe the behaviour of the cats in a fur-free space while enjoying coffee and cake. Cat cafés are gaining huge popularity worldwide. The idea, originally conceived in Taiwan, has spread in the last few years to Japan, Austria, Russia, China, the USA and Great Britain.
