New fair in Xiamen

Xiamen, a seaport in southeast China, will host the first World Pet Expo from 29 April to 1 May. An exhibition area of 15 000 m2 is to be taken up by the fair, which is being organised by the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. The organiser says that over 100 exhibitors have already signed up for the show, the highlights of which include a dog competition, a pet groomers’ skill contest, a cross-straits pet veterinarian conference, pet photography contest and the annual conference of the Asia Ornamental Fish Union. Approximately 50 000 visitors are expected.
