The International Pet Conference, organised by Dähne Verlag and Management Forum of the Verlagsgruppe Handelsblatt in Prague, ended today with talks on the market potential of the pet sector in eastern Europe and Turkey. 150 high-ranking representatives of the pet supplies sector from 22 countries and four continents attended the conference. Apart from the presentation of the Pet Personality of the Year Award, other highlights of the event included the talks given by top-class speakers at the conference. Alfred Glander, Managing Director at Fressnapf, spoke about the digital revolution in pet supplies retailing and the concepts formulated by Fressnapf for following this trend. There was great interest too in the talks by Rolf Hagen Jr., President and CEO of Rolf C. Hagen Inc., on developing strong brands and by Thorsten Hermes, Industry Head Retail at Google Deutschland, on the mobile revolution. Tim Eales, Director of Strategic Insight at the Symphony IRI Group, presented new figures for the international pet supplies market in 2012.
