New recall in the USA

According to reports on the Internet, Nature’s Recipe has announced the recall of a limited supply of its “Nature’s Recipe Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken”, which were manufactured at its plant in Topeka/Kansas in the USA and distributed across the whole country. Nature’s Recipe is a brand of Del Monte Foods. The company says the product has the potential to be contaminated with salmonella, which can affect animals eating the products and pose a risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products. Pets with salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhoea or bloody diarrhoea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans, warns the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
