Nutro Company granted manufacturing certificates

Eurofins Scientific Inc., an independent third-party auditor, has issued the first three Pet Food Manufacturing Facility Certification Programme certificates to pet food manufacturer Nutro Co. This was reported by the Internet portal “petfoodindustry.com”. The voluntary facility certification programme was established by the American Feed Industry Association and third-party food safety experts.
The certification programmes build on AFIA’s domestic Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Programme. The new programmes are designed to monitor the process controls specifically related to pet food manufacturing and to meet requirements of the Food Safety Modernisation Act. Nutro Kansas City, Missouri, Victorville, California and Lebanon, Tennessee, facilities were the first to be granted Pet Food Manufacturing Facility Certification Programme certificates, says “petfoodindustry.com”.
