GA wins a Green Oscar

GA Pet Food Partners, the UK’s largest super-premium private label dry pet food manufacturer, has been awarded a Green Oscar in the Lancashire Business Environment Awards 2010. The company won the ‘Environmental Best Practice’ award for investing in and installing a recycling station for its hard waste. This took GA from 100 per cent landfill to 95 per cent recycling in 12 months. The site’s dedicated wastewater treatment works, which is able to recycle 100 per cent of the wastewater, was also praised as part of the award. GA is committed to a sustainable 10-year growth and investment plan. Roger Bracewell, GA’s chairman, commented: “This award is recognition for just one part of the integrated environmental plan that GA is using as its blueprint for ongoing developments throughout the whole business.”
