Food Forensics and Synergy Petfood have announced their collaboration to offer support for pet food fraud mitigation. The new collaboration is set to enable petfood manufacturers to fulfil requirements on raw materials food fraud mitigation. This would enable them to maintain pet owner trust, protect pets and businesses and fulfil the food fraud raw material and supply chain vulnerability requirements of international respected food safety standards. Both companies point to an increasing trend in global pet food fraud during the Covid-19-pandemic, with the full extent unlikely to be seen for some time, according to experts.
Food Forensic, established in the UK in 2011, refers to its wide portfolio of services enabling companies to identify current and emerging food fraud vulnerabilities and implement targeted risk-based testing to confirm authenticity.
Synergy Petfood is the trading name for Synergy Food ingredients, established in 2006 as an independent technical consultancy dedicated to the pet food industry. Its founder, David Primrose, has over 40 years of global experience in the pet food industry as a specialist in raw materials risk management focusing on quality, authenticity and safety.
