With just under three weeks to go before the trade fair opens, Interzoo 2026 (12–15 May 2026) has already attracted over 2,350 exhibitors from five continents. A leading event in the international pet industry, it also offers a wide-ranging supporting programme: The Interzoo Sustainability Conference and the Petfood Forum Europe will take place on 11 May. With Interzoo Groomers’ Day on 14 May, the international grooming community now has its own dedicated event. Academy sessions, start-up presentations and a new stage featuring talks on international procurement processes and supply chains round off the programme.

The organiser of Interzoo, Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF), reports triple-digit growth in exhibitor numbers compared to the previous event. The gross exhibition area has increased by around 108,000 sq ft (10,000 m², up 7%) and spans 15 exhibition halls – one more than in 2024.

Global market overview

Roughly 88% of exhibitors come from abroad: after companies from Germany, the largest groups of exhibitors come from China, Italy, Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, the USA, Poland and the UK. New countries exhibiting at this year’s Interzoo 2024 include Egypt, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. A total of 16 country pavilions will be presented, specifically from China, France, the UK, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Canada, Malaysia, Spain, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the USA. Turkey, Thailand and Spain are presenting their own country pavilions for the first time.

Looking at the exhibition space, Interzoo has seen significant growth in the number of booths from European countries, as well as from North and South America and Asia, WZF comments. This is due both to the increase in the number of exhibitors and to the expansion of the booths by those taking part in the fair. On the visitor side, interest in Interzoo and its accompanying events is also highly international: currently, 74% of ticket bookings are from overseas.

A wide range of products and services
