Throughout the year, Fressnapf Austria is committed to improving coexistence between humans and animals and promoting animal welfare with its ‘Tierisch engagiert’ (animal-friendly) initiative. In 2025, fundraising campaigns and change boxes at the cash registers raised a total of 188,000 euros, which was used specifically for animal, nature, and social projects, the group announced in a press release.

The donations were distributed throughout the year to various animal welfare organizations and to the three central projects of ‘Tierisch engagiert. ’ The Kinderburg Rappottenstein and Lichtblickhof each received 25,000 euros, while the Naturschutzbund Österreich (Austrian Nature Conservation Association) was supported with 20,000 euros. In addition, Fressnapf Austria in Salzburg participated in the Caritas campaign ‘Ein Funken Wärme’ (A Spark of Warmth) and made a donation of 10,000 euros to Gut Aiderbichl.

At the end of the year, the Christmas campaign ‘Tierheimwünsche werden wahr’ (Animal Shelter Wishes Come True) fulfilled over 18,000 wishes for animals across Austria who spend the Christmas season in animal shelters.

There are donation boxes in over 135 Fressnapf stores in Austria, in which customers donate between 100 and 150 kilograms of food and accessories every month. Over the course of the year, this amounted to 192 tons of donations, which were distributed to animal welfare organizations near the stores.

‘This result impressively shows how much we can achieve together. Every contribution – whether large or small – helps to improve the lives of animals and the coexistence of humans and animals in the long term, ’ emphasizes Hermann Aigner, Managing Director of Fressnapf Austria.
