Mars, Incorporated has published its global sustainability report ‘Sustainable in a Generation’ for 2024, which describes further progress towards achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. According to a press release, since 2015, the global sales of brands such as M&M's, Extra, Ben's Original and Sheba have increased by around 69% to approximately 55 billion dollars, while during this same period the carbon footprint has been reduced by a total of 16.4%.

Poul Weihrauch, CEO of Mars, emphasised: “I am delighted that we continue to be able to decouple our growth from our carbon footprint, while at the same time investing in innovation and supporting start-ups that are developing new approaches to overcoming resilience challenges."

A significant part of the reduction in greenhouse gases has been achieved through strengthened partnerships in the agricultural sector. More than 60 projects are now underway in 29 countries around the world, aimed at improving the livelihoods of farmers while making their farms and soils more resilient for future generations. To further promote progress, Mars has launched the Mars Sustainability Investment Fund (MSIF). This fund, with up to $250 million in capital, is designed to support companies that develop innovative solutions to the industry's sustainability challenges.
