Aquarium accessories pioneer dies shortly before his 75th birthday

In 1960, the young radio and television engineer and passionate aquarium hobbyist Norbert Tunze of Munich embarked on the construction of a new type of aquarium pump. In 1973, Tunze Aquarientechnik moved to new, larger, premises in Penzberg, Upper Bavaria. Further growth resulted in the expansion of production to two factories. In the years that followed, he inspired the world of aquarium accessories with his ideas and inventions, and owned a number of patents and protective marks at home and abroad for his innovations. Norbert Tunze’s son Axel took over the running of the company in 1994, although Norbert continued to be on hand to offer the company the benefit of his experience and knowledge right up to the end.
