Due to continued high demand, Fihumin has developed new, more sustainable and environmentally friendly recipes for dogs, which will be presented at Interzoo. These include a vegan/vegetarian range that features grain-free varieties, but also consciously brings selected grains back into play and also uses raw ingredients such as soya. In addition, a range based on insects is presented as an alternative to raw meat products, also including grain-free varieties as well as varieties with rice or fresh insects. This is the company's response to the current trend towards more sustainable animal nutrition. Nowadays, customers are increasingly focusing on healthy and more sustainable nutrition that is also more climate-neutral and therefore takes into account the well-being of animals as well as the environment. “Sustainability, climate and environmental protection are very important to us, and at the same time we want to meet changing customer requirements with high-quality recipe concepts,“ says Carlo Priolo, CEO of Fihumin.
The use of insects and more vegetable and fruit ingredients in the pet food recipes makes a major contribution to climate protection, as the production of these highly interesting raw materials is much more environmentally friendly. All recipes are easy to digest thanks to the valuable ingredients and are also particularly suitable for sensitive dogs and allergy sufferers, as animal proteins can cause intolerances in some pets.
Top priority is given to fresh, high-quality ingredients in the recipes. Care is taken to procure the raw materials from the EU as far as possible so that unnecessary transport routes are avoided to the greatest possible extent. The ingredients are processed quickly to preserve their freshness and nutrients.
