Sustainability is in the DNA of Mera Tiernahrung as a family business. Since 1949, the company has been developing sustainable, species-appropriate solutions for humans, animals and the environment to strengthen the relationship between them. Because a healthy life also includes a healthy planet, Mera produces its high-quality dog and cat food wholly using green electricity and, since 2020, also in a completely CO₂-neutral manner at the Kevelaer site. The family-owned company is proud to be the first company in the pet food industry to have been certified since March 2019 according to the Sustainable Business standard of the Centre for Sustainable Management (ZNU). As a major employer in the Lower Rhine region, Mera is aware of its responsibility and is continuously working to improve all environmental, social and economic sustainability aspects – especially in these challenging times.
