Dehner expands its multichannel offering

The garden centre operator Dehner has expanded its multichannel offering in some stores with the new "Click & Collect" service. Customers can pre-order 20 000 products for the home, garden and pets in the online store and then collect their purchases from their local store four hours later, according to the company. The first participating stores include the garden centres in Augsburg, Ingolstadt, Germering and in Rain. Dehner says that other outlets will follow in the course of the year.

Oase buys Geo Global Partners

Oase has acquired the American supplier of water garden products, Geo Global Partners, which is based in West Palm Beach/Florida. No details of the purchase price have been revealed by the companies. Oase says that the aim of the acquisition is to consolidate its market position in the USA. The products of Geo Global Partners are pitched primarily in the low- and medium-price segment, and Oase says it now intends to strengthen the medium-price segment in particular and add products from the premium segment to its range. Oase has been partnered step by step by Geo Global Partners in its previous activities in North America. The Fountain Technology business will continue to be overseen by the Oase subsidiary in California.

Del Monte relaunches

The former Del Monte Pet Products has been renamed Big Heart Pet Brands following the sale of the company's consumer products division to Del Monte Pacific. The company announced its launch as the largest standalone pet food and treat company in North America. Dave West, a respected leader in the consumer products business, who joined Del Monte Foods in 2011, will serve as president and chief executive of the company. Big Heart Pet Brands will remain headquartered in San Francisco and continue to have offices in Pittsburgh and Burbank. The company will also maintain its existing pet food and treat manufacturing plants, distribution centres and sales offices.

Royal Canin coming to Interzoo after all

Royal Canin is now intending to take part in Interzoo after all. The pet food manufacturer has registered for the world-leading fair for the pet supplies sector in Nuremberg as a co-exhibitor with BTG Beteiligungs GmbH, which will be located in hall1 on stand 337. In discussions with BTG the opportunity arose for the company to be represented on a comparatively small show area.
