The American company Natura Pet Products has expanded its dry pet food recall because of the suspected presence of salmonella in batches of dry cat food and a cat treat. Sampling conducted by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Georgia Department of Agriculture confirmed the presence of salmonella in additional lots of dry cat food and the cat treat. As a result, Natura is expanding the dry pet food recall to include other products manufactured around the same time, although the company says no related illnesses have been confirmed. The recalled pet food products are sold through veterinary clinics and selected pet speciality retailers online in the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Costa Rica.
