WWPIA announces new slate of officers

The World Wide Pet Industry Association of Arcadia announced new officers and board members at the WWPIA Annual Meeting held in conjunction with SuperZoo. As elected by the membership, the officers are as follows: President Steve Segner, California Premium Cage; first vice president Robert Bray, Star Milling Co.; second vice president Mike Lasky, Current USA, Inc.; chief financial officer Jim Alvord, Petco; secretary Ruth Jeffers, Jeffers Pet Supply.
Also elected by the membership to serve two-year terms (2005-2007) are Mike Guerber, Precise Pet Products; Ruth Jeffers; Rick Newman, Newman’s Fish Foods, and Steve Segner. Other directors completing their current terms on the board (2004-2006) are Steve Lambourne, Steve Lambourne Co., Inc.; Sher Dean Smart, Precision Pet Products; Lewis M. Sutton, Pet-Ag, Inc.; Michael Twain, Choo Choo Imports; Robert Bray; Mike Lasky and Jim Alvord. Rick Taylor, Breeder’s Choice Pet Foods, was appointed to complete the unexpired term of board member Jeff Sutherland, Central Pet.
Also at the President’s Reception, WWPIA acknowledged the following members for their past service on the board: Frank Koch, Natural Balance Pet Foods, Inc.; Russ Feller, Feller Stone, Inc.; Jeff Sutherland; John Habib, Farnam Pet Products, and Mike Hoffer, Hoffer’s Tropic Life Pets.
Doug Poindexter, executive vice president of WWPIA, was presented with an award of appreciation for his 15 years of service to the association.
