New Fressnapf XXL in Krefeld

The newly designed XXL store is a pilot store of the Fressnapf Group for the whole of Europe.

On 2 August, the Fressnapf Group opened its new XXL store in Krefeld. The retail group describes it as an "ultra-modern destination store and pilot store for Europe".

The completely redesigned store on a retail area of around 1 500 m² is intended to set new standards in the pet sector and launch highly individual product and service worlds. The Fressnapf Group also wishes to show its commitment to the company's base in Krefeld.

The new store concept is particularly bright and modern and is organised according to pet species as well as with a marketplace layout. The fittings are a mix of Scandinavian design with an industrial appearance, intended to create a "feel-good" factor for customers. They should also encourage visitors to explore the store and exchange ideas with other pet enthusiasts.

With over 35 staff supporting manager Markus Kimpel, the number of employees in the Krefeld pilot store has doubled. Pet experience worlds are being created for small animals as well as for birds, along with a naturalistic aquarium area featuring over 280 species of fish. Digital communications elements such as columns and touchscreens have also been incorporated, together with an ordering service giving customers full access to the online shop range. An Activet veterinary practice is located in the store, plus a Fellini grooming salon and adoption centre.

The inaugural programme continues until 28 August with a variety of offers, discounts, promotions, a wheel of fortune, coupons and product offers tailored to the various pet categories in weekly rotation.
