Maxi Zoo Ireland has announced the acquisition of all stores and the online shop of Equipet. As a result of this acquisition, Maxi Zoo Ireland now operates 29 shops nationwide with 285 employees and an online shop. Both companies have agreed not to disclose financial details of the acquisition.
"Our goal is to double our annual turnover of more than 30 mio. euros in the medium term and to build up more than 50 locations in the long term," said Sven Girmendonk, regional operations officer of the Fressnapf Group. Enrico De Luca, country manager of Maxi Zoo Ireland, added: "Equipet is a company we have always respected for its high standards in the markets and its quality."
Prior to the acquisition, Equipet had eight locations, 92 employees and an online shop. Directors Ian McCaffrey, Malachy Byrne and Martin Kennedy worked closely with Maxi Zoo Ireland for several months before the acquisition was officially completed on 1 November.
