Investing millions in vegan dog food

Wild Earth

Ryan Bethencourt is co-founder and CEO of Wild Earth.

Insect-based dog food is now available, but in the USA a dog food based on fungus is now attracting attention.

Wild Earth, a biotech startup in California, is promoting meat-free dog food produced from mould fungus containing protein, called koji.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the company has attracted four million dollars in funding by investors. Wild Earth aims to market its portfolio initially exclusively online and in pet stores.
