The 15th edition of the Global Pet Expo will take place once again this year in the Convention Centre in Orlando from 20 to 22 March. It is expected to be bigger than previous shows, with well over 1 000 companies from the USA and beyond showing their latest pet products and services on 352 300 square foot (almost 33 000 m2) of exhibition space. The 2019 show will bear the motto "The One Show To Attend".With 1 164 exhibitors, 3 523 booths sold and 6 508 qualified buyers from the previous year, the scale is extensive once again. The high number of attendees (2 100) visiting the Global Pet Expo for the first time last year showed the organisers, the APPA and PIDA associations, that there is still potential for further growth. In 2018, attendees from 79 countries visited the show.
Special sections including Boutique, Natural Pet, Everything Aquatic and What's New! will help visitors to navigate the show floor more easily. And as international participation continues to grow, the 2019 show will once again feature country-specific pavilions, providing participating country delegations with their own dedicated space on the exhibit floor, according to the organisers.
Companies launching new products can highlight them in the popular New Products Showcase, where buyers and media have the opportunity to preview all the newest products hitting the industry in one convenient location. The space, measuring 45 000 square feet (approx. 4 500 m2) on the show floor, is set aside to recognise the year's best creative efforts in new product and point-of-purchase displays. With nearly 1 000 entries submitted in 2018, this is the largest new products showcase at any pet product industry trade show in the world, say the organisers.
Visitors can also attend educational seminars at the 2019 Global Pet Expo Academy. Managed by PIDA, the 2018 seminar line-up featured 20 different speakers offering 35 hours of retailer education on topics such as social media marketing, competing with online retailers and the hottest topics in employment law. In 2018, the Academy expanded to include reformatted mini-sessions held in the New Products Showcase and aquatic-focused seminars held in the Aquatic Lounge.
