The food available in the natural environment differs with regard to the quantity and quality of nutrients. Fish nutrition also varies over the course of the year, as does the availability of food, which depends largely on the season. Fish are thus forced to utilise less appealing substitutes that they would otherwise have avoided.
Aquarium enthusiasts aim to reproduce the natural conditions as faithfully as possible. The team at Tropical is confident that it has assembled the different fish food compositions so as to diversify their nutrition to the greatest possible extent. Food shortages and various health problems can be avoided in this way.

The right food

The composite food types available on the market include universal foods with several constituents, which are used to feed the most popular species of aquarium fish. One of these is Supervit. It is a multi-ingredient food containing beta-glucane, a natural immune stimulator. If used regularly, Supervit increases the resistance of fish to disease, accelerates growth, aids digestion and enhances colouring. It comes in six forms (flakes, granulate, mini-granulate, chips, sinking and stick-on tablets), making it suitable for small, medium and large fish species as well as for rearing fry.
Tropical says that Vitality & Color and 3-Algae are ideal additions. The colour-enhancing, protein-rich Vitality & Color ensures superb colouring of the fish and has a positive impact on growth and reproduction. It comes in the form of flakes, granulate and tablets. 3-Algae, on the other hand, has a high plant-based content. It contains 12 per cent algae (Chlorella vulgaris, Ascophyllum nodosum and Laminaria digitata) and aloe extract to regulate digestion, prevent inflammation of the digestive tract and support the immune system. This food is also available as flakes, granulate, sinking tablets and stick-on tablets for adaptation to the size of the fish's mouth and fish eating habits.
