38 656 trade visitors from 126 countries came to the last Interzoo as compared to 39 075 visitors in 2016. The proportion of foreign trade visitors increased from 70 to 74 per cent in 2018. Once again, Germany accounted for the largest number of trade visitors, although the number declined by nearly 15 per cent to 9 934 entrants. Most of the visitors from outside Europe came from Asia.
The number of exhibitors rose by ten per cent, with an increase of seven per cent in the number of German exhibitors. This year a total of 1 989 exhibitors (2016: 1 818) from 66 countries (2016: 61) presented their goods and services. The gross exhibition area of the 13 show halls used altogether grew to over 120 000 square metres.
A visitor survey indicated that over 96 per cent were satisfied to very satisfied with their visit to the show. 97 per cent of trade visitors were able to say ʺInterzoo gave me something." Over 96 per cent of visitors intend to visit Interzoo 2020.87 per cent of trade visitors were ʺsatisfied to very satisfiedʺ with the new show days of Tuesday to Friday, with foreign companies in particular lauding the change. The new timing has been retained for 2020 also, when Interzoo will take place from Tuesday 19 May to Friday 22 May.
