Focus on less plastic use

World Feeds is redeveloping its facility

13.08.2020

The UK-based producer of ornamental fish food, World Feeds, has decided to reduce its plastic use by over 50 per cent. The packaging of the fish food diets, which are marketed under the brand Vitalis Aquatic Nutrition, will get a new look. The new pots will initially be available in three core retail sizes and all made from white polypropylene. This has been chosen specifically as white is far more easily recycled worldwide, according to the company. They will be in larger sizes to offer more food per pot in the case of most products. The company's Yorkshire-based manufacturing facility in the UK is currently undergoing the final stages of a massive redevelopment. Representing a major investment for World Feeds, the building has been completely redesigned around the unique production processes, improving overall efficiency and greatly increasing the capacity, according to World Feeds. The redevelopment will be completed in the coming months.
