Street Vet of Great Britain and Homely Home of Russia are the winners of the Purina BetterwithPets Award 2020. With this award Nestlé Purina supports initiatives that utilise the bond between pets and people to solve social problems. It was organised for the second time since 2018 with Ashoka, a pioneer of social entrepreneurship.Over 150 applications were submitted from 23 countries in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Eight finalists were selected and presented as part of an online event.StreetVet, winner of the "Established or piloted innovations" category, ensures veterinary care for pets whose owners are homeless through over 650 veterinarian volunteers. The company also helps homeless shelters to become pet-friendly.Homely Home, winner of the "Innovative projects in the ideas phase" category, is involved in developing new approaches to rehabilitation programmes for addicts through a meaningful, life-long attachment to pets.
