Three pet brands in the top 100

Euromonitor International's megabrands report is a ranking of the top 100 most successful fast-moving consumer goods (fmcg) brands worldwide. Each of the brands making it into the top 100 qualifies on the basis of its retail sales value for 2017. In the top spot is Coca-Cola (brand value 35-45 bn dollars), followed by Pepsi and Nescafé (brand value respectively 10-15 bn dollars).Pedigree is the first pet care brand in 31st place (brand value: 6-7 bn dollars). Other brands in the top 100 are Whiskas in 68th place and Purina Friskies at number 83 (2-3 bn dollars).In 2017 megabrands accounted for 14 per cent of all fmcg sales worldwide. These were primarily driven by sales of packaged food, beauty and personal care, and soft drinks brands. Asia Pacific accounts for the single biggest percentage of fmcg sales by region.
