Plaček Group enters Romanian market

The Plaček Group is a leading retailer in the EU with 230 pet stores.

The Plaček Group has decided to enter the Romanian pet market by opening two new Super Zoo stores by the end of this year and five stores next year. All of them will be located in retail parks together with Kaufland or Lidl.

The Super Zoo concept is successful in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The stores in Romania will be similar to the format in the Czech Republic, with retail areas of 350 to 700 m².

"Romania is an important market in our region with good potential for our strong brands," says Dušan Plaček. He sees the potential for building around 35 stores in this format in the next seven years.

The Plaček Group is a leading retailer in the EU with 230 pet stores. It operates under the Super Zoo brand in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Dino Zoo in Latvia and Russia, and Kakadu in Poland.
