BackPet food sales in Italy increase by 8 per cent
In the twelve months from July 2020 to June 2021, the pet food market in Italy saw sales of 2.431 bn euros. Growth compared with the same period in the previous year amounted to eight per cent. These figures were revealed in a preview of the 14th edition of the Assalco-Zoomark report, as featured by the Italian online industry magazine PetB2B.it.
PetB2B reports that more than a quarter of the sales of pet food were transacted through traditional pet stores (653.6 mio euros). Store chains accounted for 12.8 per cent of overall sales (312 mio euros), 19.7 per cent more than in the same period of the previous year.
The complete Assalco-Zoomark report will be presented at Zoomark in Bologna on 10 November.
