According to Euromonitor International's latest report, the Russian pet food market was estimated at 212 bn roubles (approx. 2.69 bn euros) and a volume of 645 000 tons in 2019. In terms of value, the market went up by 10.5 per cent compared with 2018.
The top five leading suppliers are Mars, Nestlé, Monge, Alpintech and Colgate-Palmolive.
Euromonitor International forecasts pet food retail sales to increase up to 232 bn roubles in 2020 (approx. 2.94 bn euros) and volume growth up to 657 000 tons by the end of the year. The forecast was issued prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and does not take into account the impact of the coronavirus on the pet industry.
