BackFressnapf denies takeover of Musti Group
Fressnapf has no interest in a takeover of the leading Scandinavian pet store chain Musti Group. This was declared by Europe's leading specialist trade group after enquiries by the specialist journal PET worldwide.
In Scandinavia, particularly in Sweden, there has been speculation in the last few days about a takeover by Fressnapf of the company which has belonged to the investor group EQT since the end of 2014.
At first glance, such a takeover would have a certain attraction: the Musti Group holds a strong position on the Scandinavian pet market with around 260 locations in Finland, Norway and Sweden and has continuously expanded through takeovers. For example last year the chain, which is located in Helsinki, Finland, also took over two online trading companies, Vet Zoo and Animail, which are important in the Scandinavian pet industry.
