Fediaf's second virtual annual general meeting on 17 June was attended by over 180 participants from 21 countries. In addition to the presentation of the 2021 annual report and a new strategy for 2022 to 2025, Fediaf president Annet Palamba also welcomed expert speakers on core topics such as sustainability and global trade.
The highlight of the event was the round-table discussion on Brexit - the first 150 days. Moderator Dr Monika Prenner, chair of Fediaf's Feed and Trade Working Group, explained how the pet food industry has transitioned and adapted in the first five and a half months of trade on both sides of the pond. Finally, Dr Wolfgang Trunk from the Animal Nutrition and Health Unit gave an overview of the latest legal developments affecting the pet food industry.
Fediaf secretary general Raquel Izquierdo de Santiago concluded by emphasising: "After today's inspiring presentations, it is clear that the pet food industry is already positively engaged in global discussions on facilitating trade and working towards a greener future."
