Back“Diplomatic immunity” for 20 petfluencers
Pet store chain Fressnapf has come up with a humorous response to Brexit on Instagram. Following a tightening of entry regulations for British pets by the EU, the retailer has been swift to react by granting "diplomatic immunity" to 20 German petfluencers with British roots. Wide-reaching Instagram accounts are proudly presenting to their followers the travel documents of their British Shorthair cats, beagles, terriers etc. The four-legged companions are now officially ambassadors of good taste.
The idea and its implementation came from the Tony Agency, which specialises in petfluencer marketing. A host of enthusiastic comments on Instagram are a testament to how well the initiative has been received.
Fressnapf and Tony have already set creative standards with influencer initiatives in the past. Their #frauchentag, when 30 cats and dogs sent their female owners a personal handwritten letter for Mother's Day, received extensive recognition as the best influencer communication.
The campaign triumphed in the PR Report Awards 2019, the German PR Award 2020 and the German Award for Online Communication 2020.
