BackBynsa and United Petfood merge operations
The Spanish private label manufacturer Bynsa has been acquired by United Petfood. Bynsa produces dry food and treats in particular for the leading Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona, which sells them under the Compy label.
The combined group will generate a turnover of 275 mio euros with nine plants in Europe, located in Spain (1), Belgium (1), France (5), the Netherlands (1) and Poland (1); and an industrial capacity of more than 400 000 tons of food and treats for dogs and cats manufactured exclusively for third companies.
Following the joining of the two companies, Roger Mohr will remain CEO of Bynsa, while Mercadona will remain the main customer through its Compy brand. Mercadona will continue to be the main client of the new project, as the pet food under the Compy brand will continue to be produced at the Burgo de Ebro facilities.
From United Petfood's side, the partnership with Bynsa enables the group to further develop its dry pet food, biscuit and treat offering to customers in more than 40 countries.
