In the six months to its reporting date on 30 April, Just for Pets suffered operational losses of 250 000 pounds. A change in purchasing habits, strong competition and cost pressure were deemed to be responsible for the difficult situation in which the company found itself. "It was extremely hard for us to take this decision," said Ken Greetham, chief executive of Wynnstay.
"We will be working closely with advisers to ensure that Just for Pets employees, customers, suppliers and Wynnstay shareholders are best served."
