The company cites the online channel as the most important growth driver of the past year: With an increase of 45 per cent, the already ambitiously planned growth was clearly exceeded, Fressnapf emphasises.
"Incredibly, but in the crisis year 2020, we far exceeded all the targets planned for the anniversary year. In 2021, we will continue to attack in all countries, both stationary and online, and actively drive the consolidation of the industry forward under our own steam. We are planning more than 100 new locations and additional online shops. At the turn of the year, we already took over the Danish competitor Petworld with 36 locations and online shops," says Torsten Toeller, founder and owner as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fressnapf Group.
Managing Director Dr. Hans-Jörg Gidlewitz adds: "On our way to becoming an ecosystem for all pet owners in Europe, we will continue to pursue this expansive path on all channels vigorously and with high investments."
"We have adapted our working methods to the changing conditions in order to act in an even more customer-centric way and to inspire even more customers. This helps us both in acquiring new customers and in recruiting talented and competent new employees," emphasises Managing Director Dr Johannes Steegmann. Currently, about 14 000 people from over 50 nations work for the group of companies.
