To support the industry with its corporate communication, the trade magazines pet and PET worldwide will offer a platform for innovations in their May issues under the heading "New Products and Concepts for Pet Supplies Retailers". The deadline for both issues is 9 April. Further information can be found here.
The fact is: now more than ever it is important to provide fresh impetus, so that despite social distancing, pet owners will in future not only shop online and in the supermarkets but will also buy from bricks-and-mortar pet stores too. This is not a matter of course, because a large number of pet owners have stocked up significantly in the last couple of weeks and are keen to avoid leaving the house if possible to shop. This could have a negative impact on pet stores.
Some effort will be required, therefore, for pet supplies retailers to retain the loyalty of their customers. Some companies have already seen the writing on the wall and have developed interesting new products that will be coming onto the market.
