On 1 July, Seitz Heimtiernahrung incorporated the family company Fleischeslust into the Seitz Group. The Kurpas family, which owns Fleischeslust, has acquired an interest in the Seitz Group in a reciprocal gesture. "Both companies will remain legally autonomous," emphasised Thomas Suwelack, the managing director of the two companies. In the background, the Hanseatic investment company BPE of Hamburg has a majority holding in Seitz Heimtiernahrung. While Seitz Heimtiernahrung continues to concentrate on its core competence as a private label producer, Fleischeslust has secured an IFS-certified manufacturer for its own products.Seitz Heimtiernahrung also benefits from Fleischeslust's competence in developing and producing sausages for canine nutrition. "This merger creates a profitable situation for all parties involved," said Fleischeslust founder Oliver Kurpas in an exclusive discussion with PET worldwide.
