The pet food group Partner in Pet Food (PPF), based in Budapest (Hungary), takes over the Swedish manufacturer Doggy and its brands "Bozita", "Bozita Robur" and "Doggy & Mjau". Doggy previously belonged to the investment company NDX Group based in Lithuania. "Together with our new and equally enthusiastic owner, we are looking forward to the next exciting step on the way," Doggy Managing Director Magnus Sjösten is quoted as saying.

PPF has around 1 600 employees in 38 countries and produces around 500 000 tonnes of dog and cat food annually. The company is one of the largest private label manufacturers of pet food in Europe. With the acquisition of Doggy, PPF complements its product range, geographic coverage and distribution network in Europe - especially in the Nordic countries. The operating business will continue to be run under local management from Vargarda.

Doggy currently has a turnover of approximately 600 million kroner (approx. 57.2 mio euros) and approximately 200 employees, distributed between the headquarters in Vargarda, Sweden, and the branches in Germany and Poland. It is expected that the PPF deal will be fully completed in August, after the usual regulatory approvals have been granted.
