Merck plans the acquisition of Antelliq

The pharmaceuticals company Merck is planning to acquire Antelliq, a company specialising in digital animal identification, traceability and monitoring solutions. Antelliq is to become a wholly owned and separately managed subsidiary within the Merck Animal Health division.
Merck is buying Antelliq for 2.4 bn dollars from funds advised by BC Partners. The deal is subject to the approval of the competition authority and other customary closing conditions and is likely to go through in the second quarter of 2019.
Another brand under the Antelliq umbrella is Sure Petcare, the supplier of microchip-controlled cat flaps and automatic feeders.
