Interpets in Japan cancelled

26.02.2020

Interpets was to have been staged in the Aomi exhibition halls of Tokyo Big Sight from 26 to 29 March. Messe Frankfurt Japan, the Japan Pet Food Association and the Japan Pet Products Manufacturers Association have now announced the cancellation of the show due to the coronavirus outbreak.
In a joint press release it states that the decision was taken on account of the rise in confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Japan. As a reaction to the 157 confirmed cases (as of 25 February) across the country, the Japanese health minister has urged the public to avoid attending any gatherings that are not absolutely necessary.
Due to the upcoming Olympic Games, the organisers have been unable to find a new date for Interpets this year. The fair has therefore been put back to 1 to 4 April 2021.
