The 158th store belonging to the family-operated DIY chain Hornbach opens today, 27 September, in Borås in southern Sweden. After Gothenburg, Malmö, Stockholm, Sundbyberg and Helsingborg, the city is the sixth biggest in Sweden. More stores are to follow in the next few years, according to the company, starting in Kristianstad (2019) and Trollhättan. The store, managed by Iwona Migdal and with a retail area of over 8 500 m², will retail the extensive Hornbach product range. "We still perceive great growth potential in Sweden. Following the big city outlets with retail areas in excess of 14 000 m², we are now targeting rather more compact stores in medium-sized cities and municipalities," board member Wolfger Ketzler was quoted as saying.
