Christine Cross has been appointed to the supervisory board of online retailer Zooplus. The appointment took effect on 1 November and runs until the next annual general meeting. She succeeds Karl-Heinz Holland, who left the supervisory board on 31 October after being appointed chairman of the board of the Spanish DIA Group. Holland had been on the supervisory board of Zooplus AG since 2016.
Christine Cross spent 14 years with the British supermarket chain Tesco. She filled a variety of executive roles there, including as head of consumer services, director of global purchasing of non-food products and latterly as director of group business development. Cross also has extensive experience of private labels. In her current role she has advised a large number of national and international companies in a sector field that is relevant to her role as a member of the Zooplus supervisory board.
Zooplus plans to nominate Christine Cross as a candidate for the seat on the supervisory board at the annual general meeting that will probably take place in June 2020. It will thus aim to extend her period in office beyond the general meeting.
