With sales up by 19 per cent, Zooplus AG did not grow quite as fast in the third quarter as in the first two quarters of the year. Nevertheless, it still achieved double-digit growth rates in all 30 country markets. It claims to have even achieved a customer loyalty record in the third quarter, with a sales-related reselling rate of 95 per cent (adjusted for currency effects).
In the first nine months of this year, sales increased by 23 per cent compared with last year to 974 mio euros, although the number of new customers registered in this period only rose by 8 per cent. Zooplus attributes this smaller increase to a very sharp rise in the comparable period in the previous year.
Based on the current business trend, executive board chairman Dr Cornelius Patt has confirmed the forecast for 2018 as a whole, with a planned increase in revenue of 21 to 23 per cent.
