Santé Vet launches in Germany

The insurance company Santé Vet, which specialises in pets, is entering the German market. It already claims market leadership in France and Belgium. "94 per cent of veterinarians in France recommend our pet health insurance," says the company's press release.
Insured owners can access the customer portal online to report claims, track reimbursement in real time and retrieve contract information. Individual advice is provided via a cost-free service hotline. Up to 90 per cent of vets' bills are covered, as are the costs of screenings. Cost reimbursement is normally within 72 hours of Santé Vet receiving the vet's bill.
Santé Vet was established in 2003 and employs more than 200 people in Europe. Sales this year are projected to be in the order of 75 mio euros. Over 500 000 claim reports are processed annually.
