Pet owning strengthens the labour market

The current statistics from FEDIAF, the European pet food manufacturers' industry association, reveal that pet owning is a significant factor for the labour market.
They show that the pet food sector is responsible for around 100 000 jobs directly as well as an estimated 900 000 indirect jobs in related sectors. These include suppliers to the pet food industry, roughly 200 000 vets in Europe, 60 000 pet stores, the pet requisites industry, trade shows, the media, breeders, animal welfare organisations and logistics providers.
